Unruly Blooms

I paint quite instinctively and tend not to overthink it.

Usually I’m chasing colour combinations, movement or a feeling rather than trying to make a grand statement.

Flowers keep appearing in the work, although often loosely and accidentally. I like the tension between something recognisable and something abstract.

I’d rather leave space for people to interpret the paintings themselves than tell them exactly what they’re supposed to mean.
